District social workers inform Nizhny Novgorod residents about payments for the birth of children

      Society: Social precinct officers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region are helping families learn about new support measures for the birth or adoption of children. Since July 1, a set of initiatives aimed at increasing birth rates and improving conditions for raising children has been in effect in the region. The initiatives are being implemented at the direction of Governor Gleb Nikitin as part of the regional project "Five Years of the Family."

      One of the key measures is the "Parental Basic Income 'Osnova'" program. It provides that families who have a child born or adopted on or after July 1, 2025, will be able to receive at least 1 million rubles in total, taking into account federal and regional payments.

      For the birth of a first child, a monthly payment of 10,000 rubles is provided for three years. For a second child, parents can choose one of the options: a 500,000-ruble certificate and 20,000 rubles per month for 15 months, or 22,222 rubles per month for three years. These funds are paid in addition to the federal maternity capital.

      From the third child, financial support is provided entirely at the expense of the regional budget. In this case, one can receive 700,000 rubles as a certificate and 30,000 rubles per month for 10 months, or monthly payments of 30,000 rubles for three years.

      For the fourth and subsequent children, a certificate in the amount of 1 million rubles is provided or monthly payments of 30,000 rubles for three years.

      The second support measure is the "Gift to the Newborn" program. Families will be able to receive baby products from Nizhny Novgorod manufacturers free of charge worth 20,000 rubles. In the case of twins or more children, a gift is provided for each child. Parents can choose between an electronic certificate or a ready-made set of items for the baby’s first year of life.

      As the social precinct officers note, the new support system meets the needs of families.

      "Many parents wanted to receive monthly payments. The new program fully meets their expectations," said social precinct officer Natalya Baranova from the Prioksky District.

      Recall that the "Social Precinct Officer" project has been operating since March 2023 at the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. It covers Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Arzamas, Bogorodsk and Kstovo. Participants in the project help families receive up-to-date information and act as a link between residents and government authorities.

      Earlier it was reported that 84% of Nizhny Novgorod families chose the "parent’s salary" after the birth of a child.
