      In Dzerzhinsk, on the territory of the former Zarya plant, active construction of a federal-level eco-industrial park is underway. The new facility is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Ecology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The customer is LLC "Ecological Digital Operator," and the work is being carried out by JSC "EKS Group of Companies." The project has already been accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the regional Ministry of Ecology noted.

      The eco-park will become an important regional center for the processing of secondary resources. Environmentally oriented productions will be developed there, where waste is turned into full-fledged raw materials for the manufacture of products demanded in construction, road and industrial sectors.

      The Minister of Ecology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vladimir Tuzhilin, emphasized: "The eco-industrial park is an example of how a problem can be turned into a resource. Used tires, plastic, glass — all of this will be processed and returned to the economy in the form of needed products. This is an important step toward an environmentally friendly future for the Nizhny Novgorod Region."

      The park will host resident enterprises, each of which will specialize in processing certain types of secondary raw materials and producing environmentally safe products.

      Among the residents: LLC "NIINTs DorNau" (tire processing to obtain granulated modifiers for asphalt concrete); LLC "Okapol" (production of modified polymers and compounds); LLC "SET-NN" (production of polyester fiber, geotextile and nonwoven materials from recycled PET bottles); LLC "Istok" (disposal of class III–IV hazardous waste with subsequent production of furnace fuel and processing of contaminated soils).

      "Construction of the eco-park in Dzerzhinsk is an important step in the development of environmentally responsible industry in the region. New jobs will be created here, modern engineering infrastructure will be provided, and most importantly — technologies aimed at careful treatment of the environment will be implemented," Minister Vladimir Tuzhilin said.

      Construction of the facility is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2025.
