      The Labor Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death of an employee at the "Smart" store located in the town of Bor, the agency's representatives reported.

      The incident occurred on the morning of August 26, 2025. According to preliminary information, a 47-year-old employee of the company "Sweet Life Plus," who was performing the duties of a loader, suddenly lost consciousness during work. It is believed that the man had an epileptic seizure, as a result of which he fell and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury.

      An ambulance was called to the scene. The injured man was taken to the district hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with extremely serious head injuries.

      Despite the efforts of medical personnel, by the evening of the same day the man's condition rapidly deteriorated. He died in the hospital.

      As Ilya Moshes, the chief state labor inspector for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, said, an investigation of the accident is currently underway.

      "We will establish all the circumstances of the incident and will also check compliance with occupational safety standards. If violations are identified, appropriate inspector response measures will be taken," he said.

      Earlier it was reported that a worker fell from the fourth floor at a construction site in Novinki and was killed.
