Rosprirodnadzor succeeded in recovering a debt for environmental fees from the Zavolzhsky municipal unitary enterprise.

      The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region granted the claim of the Interregional Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia to recover arrears from the municipal unitary enterprise "Teplovodokanal" of the town of Zavolzhye for fees for negative environmental impact.

      The violation was discovered during an inspection of the 2022 declaration. The enterprise operating biological treatment facilities distorted data in its reporting, which led to incorrect calculations and understatement of payments.

      According to the supervisory authority's calculations, the federal budget was underpaid by more than 566,000 rubles for the disposal of industrial and consumer waste and by about 9,000 rubles for the discharge of pollutants into water bodies.

      In court, representatives of the MUE agreed with Rosprirodnadzor's calculations. The organization is obliged to repay the debt itself and to pay penalties for untimely and incomplete payments.

      The total amount to be recovered amounted to more than 900,000 rubles.

      It was previously reported that Rosprirodnadzor found seven violations at the Nizhny Novgorod aeration station.
