The "Khokhloma" tea was developed in the Nizhny Novgorod region, deputy governor Oleg Berkovich reported on his Telegram channel.
He recalled that tea caravans once passed through the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, where the custom of long tea gatherings with conversation and song developed. At the same time, Berkovich emphasized: "It was here that Russians first tried the tart taste of Chinese leaves."
According to him, the tea company "Nitka," together with the "Khokhloma" brand, created a blend of black tea, wild strawberry and linden flowers picked in Semyonov, the center of khokhloma painting.
The symbolism of the ingredients reveals the connection to the craft: black is one of the main colors in the painting, wild strawberry is a traditional ornament, and linden is the tree from which utensils and toys have been turned for centuries.
According to Berkovich, the result is a tea that evokes the craft, home and the traditions of long tea-drinking. He described the new product as: "The aroma is honeyed, the taste warm, the story — authentic."
Recall that at the end of July the "Khokhloma" brand opened a shop-workshop in Plyos.
