      The project to build a road along the Volga River near the Borsky Bridge may be excluded from the comprehensive territorial development plan. This was reported by the Ministry of Urban Development and Agglomeration Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, commenting on residents' posts on social networks.

      The ministry emphasized that the existing agreement on comprehensive territorial development provides for the improvement of the coastal zone while preserving its recreational purpose.

      Agency representatives also clarified that, as part of the project, the developer plans to construct social infrastructure — in particular, a polyclinic and a kindergarten.

      Recall that at the end of February the project was presented for public discussion. However, it drew criticism from local residents. The main complaints concerned the overburdening of existing schools and kindergartens, as well as the limited capacity of the existing polyclinic.

      In addition, residents expressed concerns about a possible deterioration of the environmental situation. As an alternative, they proposed abandoning the construction of the road and instead creating a park with a beach area and extending the existing embankment.

      Earlier it was reported that a school and a kindergarten are planned to be built in Meshchera by 2029.
