      Nikita Avralev has been officially appointed rector of the Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov. This was reported by the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The ministry emphasized that this appointment is important not only for the university itself but also for the region as a whole.

      Prior to being permanently confirmed, Avralev had been serving as acting rector. He took the position after the contract with the university's previous head, Zhanna Nikonova, ended.

      Nikonova was later detained on suspicion of exceeding her official powers, and a case was opened against her. She is currently subject to a preventive measure banning her from taking certain actions.

      Earlier, Nikita Avralev commented on changes to the admission rules for fee-based programs.
