The Russian Ministry of Health has proposed making all state-funded places in medical and pharmaceutical universities targeted, TV channel 360 reports. Under this initiative, students would be required to sign a contract for targeted training.

The draft of the new law developed by the Ministry of Health has already been approved by the government. It will amend the laws "On the Fundamentals of Health Protection" and "On Education."

The document also states that graduates' violation of the terms of the targeted contract will lead to reimbursement of training costs and payment of a fine. The amount of compensation will equal the costs of training the specialist, and the fine will be twice that amount. These measures also apply to graduates of mid-level medical education programs.

In addition, sponsors of targeted training who fail to fulfill their employment obligations or terminate the contract will be held liable.

Earlier, representatives of Nizhny Novgorod universities spoke about how their admissions campaign went, as well as about new fields of study.
