Roadworks continue on several sections of the federal highways R-158 and R-177 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Temporary traffic restrictions are in effect, reports the Federal State Institution "Uprdor Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod."
On the R-158 Nizhny Novgorod–Saratov road in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district, a major overhaul with widening of the carriageway is being carried out from the 40th to the 52nd kilometer. Work is temporarily suspended, but restrictions remain on the section from the 41st to the 46th kilometer. Traffic is organized on two lanes, and the maximum speed is limited to 40–50 km/h.
In the Arzamas urban district, a large-scale overhaul continues on the section from the 77th to the 104th kilometer and will last until October 2025. The carriageway is narrowed here, and reversible traffic is organized on some sections. Speed limits are in place: 50 km/h outside populated areas and 40 km/h within populated areas. The work is being carried out by JSC "VAD."
On the R-177 "Povetluzhye" highway in the Semenovsky urban district (sections from the 74th to the 103rd kilometer and from the 103rd to the 118th kilometer), scheduled repairs are planned. From August 25 to October 30, local restrictions will be in effect due to preparatory work. The carriageway will be narrowed, and traffic will be organized on the available lanes.
In addition, at the 115th kilometer (the bridge over the Lyunda River near the village of Bokovaya), a major overhaul of the bridge structure is underway. Traffic has been temporarily redirected to a bypass road next to the bridge. The maximum speed is 40 km/h.
On another bridge — over the Zimara River in the Voskresensky district (the 123rd km) — a reduction in the load-bearing capacity of the structures has been identified. Traffic here is carried out on one lane at a speed not exceeding 20 km/h. Weight restrictions have been introduced: vehicles heavier than 20 tons and with an axle load of more than 8 tons are not permitted. A detour is possible via: Bokovaya – Krasnye Baki – Yadrovo – Vozdvizhenskoye – Voskresenskoye.
Drivers are advised to follow temporary traffic schemes, observe road signs and reduce speed in work zones.
It was previously reported that the Federal State Institution "Management of the Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod Highway" will purchase laboratory equipment to assess the quality of roadwork on federal highways.
