An AI assistant has begun advising users of the Nizhny Novgorod government services portal.

      A digital assistant based on artificial intelligence has begun being tested on the regional public services portal of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The new AI assistant processes citizens' requests and offers a list of appropriate services, generating answers to posed questions. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.

      The digital assistant was developed by the company "Sber Business Soft," which is part of Sber's ecosystem. The assistant runs on the GigaChat neural network platform, adapted for business tasks.

      To launch the GPT version, simply select the digital assistant from the drop-down menu located in the lower right corner of the portal screen.

      Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yegor Polyakov noted that the AI is capable of understanding requests formulated in ordinary conversational language. For example, a user can ask how to get in the queue to receive housing under a social rental agreement. In the case of complex questions, an operator joins the dialogue.

      For simple requests, such as "Passport" or "Extract from the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN)," the assistant responds without invoking the neural network — using pre-set scripts.

      Alexander Sinelobov, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, emphasized that the AI assistant is still operating in test mode. Therefore, user feedback on how useful the service proved to be is especially important. An evaluation of the interaction can be left via the feedback form in the chat.

      Natalya Dyomina, head of Sberbank's Nizhny Novgorod branch, noted that implementing GigaChat on the regional portal will take the quality of citizens' interaction with government services to a new level. According to her, thanks to AI everyone will be able to receive a prompt and accurate answer to their question, which will increase residents' satisfaction with the quality of public services.

      The AI assistant is also integrated into the "Gosuslugi Nizhny Novgorod Region" mobile app.

      The agreement to implement GigaChat on the regional portal was signed during the "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" (18+) (CIPR) conference in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025.

      The development of services using artificial intelligence is being carried out as part of the federal project "Digital Platforms in the Sectors of the Social Sphere" of the new national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State." This project started in Russia on January 1, 2025, at the direction of President Vladimir Putin and became the successor to the national project "Digital Economy."
