A criminal case has been opened in the Kstovo district over a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on the morning of 16 August 2025 at the 470th kilometer of the Moscow–Ufa highway. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
According to the investigation, the driver of a Kia collided with a Hyundai that was parked on the roadside. As a result of the collision the driver and an underage passenger of the Hyundai sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital. The driver later died in the medical facility.
The investigation found that the person responsible for the crash had previously been repeatedly held administratively liable for traffic violations in 2025.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of the rules of road traffic and vehicle operation that negligently resulted in the death of a person).
