Incidents Over the past 24 hours, on 18 August, EMERCOM of Russia personnel extinguished four fires in the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, the agency’s press service reported.
Thus, a bathhouse and an outbuilding caught fire in the town of Vorsma. The fire covered an area of 60 square meters.
Three cases of burning garbage were also recorded, caused by careless handling of fire.
Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of these incidents.
Rescuers warn that from 19 to 22 August a high fire danger for forests and peatlands — class 4 — will persist in the southwest part of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Residents and visitors to the region are advised to take precautions and refrain from lighting open fires near natural areas.
Earlier it was reported that a woman died in a fire in a residential building in Voskresensky District.
