An art project called "Air" has launched in Nizhny Novgorod, dedicated to reflecting on the relationship between humans and nature. It is being held as part of the First International Biennial of Ecological Art (0+), with the support of the Zen platform, the organizers say.

The project brings together well-known street artists — Ashesteen, Misha Most, Maksim Ima, Anatoly Akue, Nootk, Konstantin "ZMOGK" Danilov and Dima Retro. Their works address a wide range of environmental themes: from air pollution and space debris to loss of biodiversity and the disappearance of rare animal species.

For example, Ashesteen dedicated his mural on Korolenko Street to the issue of air quality. Misha Most on Kazan Highway visualized the theme of space debris, and Konstantin Danilov, in the work "Layers of Disappearance" on Moscow Highway, showed how the green layer of nature is fading away. Dima Retro in Sverdlov Park reflected the idea of the invisible disappearance of vegetation, and Maksim Ima on Pochainskaya Street linked the image of a ravine with local history and an underground river.

In the second stage of the project, which will conclude in September, two more murals will appear. Anatoly Akue at Zelensky Descent will explore the theme of information overload and humanity's digital traces, and Nootk on Marat Street will depict disappearing species of animals and birds from the Red Book of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The organizers note that the "Air" project serves as a visual intervention in urban space, prompting viewers to reflect on the state of the environment and the need for action to protect it.

Recall that the Biennial of Ecological Art is taking place in Nizhny Novgorod from April to November 2025 and covers six cultural venues in the city. One hundred artists from 35 countries are participating.
