      A large-scale graffiti dedicated to Captain Dmitry Yurov — a participant in the special military operation who was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage — was unveiled in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the autonomous nonprofit organization (ANO) "Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region."

      The art object appeared on Romantikov Street. Its creation became part of the patriotic project "Image of Victory," which is being implemented by "Volunteers of Victory" with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Relatives of Dmitry Yurov, activists of the regional branch of "Volunteers of Victory," representatives of the movement "Movement of the First," as well as residents of the Sovietsky District of the city attended the opening ceremony.

      From a young age Dmitry Yurov dreamed of military service. He graduated from a cadet corps, then from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School and took part in the Victory Parade on Red Square. During his service he carried out combat missions in Syria and in the North Caucasus, becoming an officer of the Special Operations Forces.

      While carrying out tasks in the area of the special military operation, Captain Yurov displayed outstanding courage. His unit successfully conducted a number of operations during which enemy personnel and equipment were destroyed. Dmitry died covering the retreat of his comrades.

      For his heroism he was awarded the Order of Courage posthumously.

      According to the head of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of "Volunteers of Victory," Maria Samodelkina, the "Image of Victory" project is not just street art but a way to preserve the connection between generations through real stories.

      "Each such graffiti is not just an image on a wall but a living dialogue between the past and the future. Dmitry Yurov and thousands of similar heroes, by their actions, create the history of Russia — a history of courage, duty and love for the Motherland. Our task is to preserve the memory of them and pass it on to the next generations," Samodelkina noted.

      Earlier it was reported that a graffiti in honor of SMO hero Sergey Franko was unveiled in Nizhny Novgorod.
