The Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a probe into possible violations of the rights of participants in the special military operation from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, the agency's information center reported.
The reason for the response was a video appeal posted in the comments on the official account of the reception office of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, on the social network VKontakte. The clip says that servicemen serving under contract have for a long time been unable to receive the regional payments owed to them. Despite numerous appeals to various authorities, the situation was not resolved.
This issue had previously been raised in the mass media.
Investigative Committee head Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the IC’s investigative department for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to report on the preliminary and final results of the probe. Its progress is under the control of the agency's central office.
