      In the Tonshaevsky district, an unauthorized dump was discovered on the territory of the Pizhemsky forestry with the help of a drone. According to the Ministry of Forestry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, ecologists removed about 5 cubic meters of waste from the site.

      The dump was discovered in a hard-to-reach location thanks to aerial photography. Drones are being actively used in the region for environmental monitoring: in 2025 this is already the 17th case of illegal dumps being identified using equipment.

      The agency reminded of the serious danger posed by such dumps: they not only pollute nature, but also increase the risk of forest fires. Offenders face hefty fines — from 500 rubles for individuals to 500,000 rubles for organizations. Local authorities urge residents to report such violations by calling the forest protection hotline.
