      A criminal case is being investigated in the Moskovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod against a 51-year-old man accused of killing his wife. This was reported by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to the investigation, on the morning of August 11 a conflict occurred between the spouses in an apartment in one of the buildings on Shalyapin Street. During an argument fueled by jealousy, the man allegedly inflicted knife wounds on his wife.

      The 45-year-old woman died at the scene from her injuries before emergency services arrived.

      The suspect was detained by law enforcement officers. He has been formally charged with murder. By court decision the accused has been remanded in custody.

      Investigators are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the incident and are gathering evidence for the case.

      Earlier it was reported that a resident of Gorodets would be sentenced for the brutal murder of an acquaintance.
