      Incidents

      An investigation is underway in the Spassky District into the death of a woman as a result of a fire. A criminal case has been opened under the article on causing death by negligence, the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      Recall that the fire occurred on 11 August in a residential house in the village of Krasny Vatras in the Spassky District. After the fire was extinguished, the body of a 44-year-old woman was found at the scene.

      At the initial examination, investigators did not find signs of violent death on the victim’s body. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the exact cause of death.

      In addition, a fire-technical examination will be conducted as part of the investigation to help determine the source and causes of the fire.

      Necessary procedural actions continue to be carried out. All circumstances of the incident are being established.

      It was previously reported that more than 100 people have died in fires in the Nizhny Novgorod Region since the beginning of the year.
