      The Institute for the Development of the Agglomeration of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has been recognized as the most effective project organization in the country based on the results of the XXIX All‑Russian Competition of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, the regional government’s press service reported.

      The First Degree Diploma "For achieving high efficiency of an organization’s results in modern economic conditions" was presented to Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Ivan Kargin at a solemn ceremony in Moscow.

      He noted that the Institute for the Development of the Agglomeration plays a key role in implementing the Comprehensive Territorial Development (CTD) program. Thanks to its work, a systematic approach to urban planning is being built in the region, resources are used efficiently, active interaction with investors is taking place, and pressing urban management issues are being addressed. All this contributes to creating a comfortable and modern living environment across the region.

      "About 50 CTD sites are at various stages of development and implementation in the region, 35 of them have already been approved by the headquarters for urban planning policy. This means that around 5,000 residents will be able to improve their housing conditions, and more than 100,000 sq. m of dilapidated and emergency housing will be transformed into almost 4 million square meters of new housing," Ivan Kargin said.

      The Institute was established in 2019 at the initiative of the Nizhny Novgorod Region government. Today it is subordinate to the regional Ministry of Urban Planning Activities and is responsible for preparing urban planning documentation. Its work includes CTD master plans, general plans, urban planning plans for land plots, land use and development rules, as well as planning and surveying projects. In addition, the Institute’s specialists provide expert reviews, cost estimate standardization, and monitoring of market prices for housing and building materials.

      Darya Shunayeva, Minister of Urban Planning Activities and Agglomeration Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, emphasized that the award is not only a recognition of the Institute’s merits but also an important step for the entire urban planning sector of the region. According to her, it confirms the high potential of the region and its commitment to innovative development.

      Acting Director of the Institute Aleksandra Bogatenkova noted that the victory in the competition confirmed the effectiveness of the organization’s work. She emphasized that she is proud of a team of ambitious specialists who are implementing modern approaches to urban planning.

      Among the promising projects overseen by the Institute are comprehensive territorial development projects on Belinsky, Yanka Kupala, Samochkina, Dyakonova, Bolshie Ovragi and Pravda streets in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Region had become one of the leading regions in implementing CTD projects.
