The craftsman from Nizhny Novgorod is selling a wooden swan for a million rubles.
On August 7, 2025, at 09:39 [189], Semyonovsky master Veniamin Sirotin listed a wooden swan for sale for one million rubles. He announced this on his social media page.
With this swan, Veniamin walked 1,200 kilometers from the town of Semyonov in the Nizhny Novgorod region to Saint Petersburg. The journey took 60 days. Throughout this time, the carved figure was with him—rain or shine, in dusty villages and at overnight stays by the fire.
The master emphasizes that he is not selling the swan but looking for a guardian for it.
According to Veniamin Sirotin, the swan has become not just an object but a true companion for him. This swan is one of a kind in the world. It symbolizes not only beauty, love, and fidelity but also overcoming challenges. It is a sign that, no matter how difficult the path, it can be traversed—if one keeps walking.
"This Swan is a living story. It bears the mark of the journey. It is imbued not only with wax and oil but also with the wind, conversations, and the road. It has become a symbol that any endeavor requires a path. And every path requires faith," noted Sirotin.
Earlier, archaeologists discovered four burial sites from the 11th-12th centuries in the Krasnobakovsky forests.
