Freshwater jellyfish Craspedacusta sowerbii photographed by a blogger in the Nizhny Novgorod region. He captured them in one of the region's bodies of water and shared the footage in his blog Super Lexa. Freshwater jellyfish are found in stagnant ponds and slow-flowing river backwaters, as well as in artificial ponds and reservoirs. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, they were first discovered in the cooling pond of the Nizhny Novgorod GRES in the Balakhna district in 1998. Unlike marine jellyfish, freshwater jellyfish are harmless to humans and can inhabit depths of 0.1–0.5 meters. Previously, pravda-nn.ru reported that six pairs of mute swans successfully raised their offspring on the Artyomovskie Meadows. Anastasia Krasushkina Photo: Super Lexa
