      A resident of the Sormovsky District in Nizhny Novgorod lost 950,000 rubles after communicating with a phone scammer. He traveled to Moscow to hand over the money. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

      The victim was contacted by a fake police officer who convinced him to cancel a suspicious transaction and declare his personal savings. Believing the scammer, the 25-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod followed his instructions. He went to the Russian capital, where at one of the train stations he handed 950,000 rubles to a courier. After that, contact with the interlocutor was lost.

      A criminal case has been initiated. Previously, we reported that a woman from Nizhny Novgorod handed over 5.3 million rubles to scammers to cancel a suspicious transaction.
