More than 80 fire stations are planned to be built in the Nizhny Novgorod region by 2035. This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region, Lieutenant General Valery Sinkov, at a press conference on August 7, attended by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
The program approved by the governor includes the construction of units at various levels — from the state fire service to municipal and voluntary fire brigades. This will significantly expand the coverage area and improve response times to fires.
It is worth recalling that since the beginning of the year, new fire depots have opened in Novinki, Usta, and Arya in the Urensky district, as well as in Pizhma. Yesterday, in Dzerzhinsk, a modern new building of the 41st fire station was officially opened.
Currently, about 190 settlements remain without coverage in the region, with approximately 6,000 residents. These territories have been prioritized for the placement of new units.
According to regulations, firefighters must arrive at the scene within 10 minutes of receiving a call in the city, and within 20 minutes in rural areas. Considering road conditions and logistics, the placement of new stations is carefully calculated and integrated into the unified development strategy.
In addition to building new facilities, the region is actively updating its fleet. Over the past two years, more than 124 modern fire trucks have been leased. As a result, all operational units are equipped with essential machinery.
It was previously reported that the project for a new dormitory for cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy in Nizhny Novgorod has passed state expertise.
