Locomotives and rolling stock are purchased to extend the metro in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On August 7, 2025, at 13:59 [184], Mosproekt-3 Joint Stock Company announced an auction for the supply of locomotives and rolling stock necessary for the construction of the metro section from Gorkovskaya station to Sennaya station in Nizhny Novgorod. This information is posted on the public procurement website. The initial contract value is 166.2 million rubles. Only small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to participate in the auction. Applications will be accepted from August 6 and will close on August 21. The equipment must be delivered within 95 calendar days from the contract signing date to the Freedom Square. The list of equipment to be purchased includes:

      - 4 electric locomotives equipped with batteries, charging devices, remote control systems, additional brakes, sand spreaders, anti-slip systems, and slope detection mechanisms;

      - 4 wheel-mounted concrete mix tanks;

      - 4 platforms for transporting construction materials;

      - 6 trolleys for transporting shielding blocks;

      - 22 carts for transporting soil;

      - 2 tilting brackets;

      - 4 lifting spans with chains.

      The technical assignment states that the equipment will be used for transporting soil, concrete mix, shielding, and other materials within tunnels using a tunnel boring complex. Previously, it was reported that the Vladimir tunnel boring shield had advanced nearly 250 meters in the second running tunnel between Sennaya and Ploshchad Svobody stations.
