The repair of the asphalt concrete pavement in the territory of School No. 35 and Kindergarten No. 477 has been completed under the "You Decide!" project.

      A total of 7 projects are being implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod district this year, 6 of which are already fully completed.

      The repair of the asphalt concrete pavement on the grounds of School No. 35 and Kindergarten No. 477 within the framework of the governor's initiative budgeting project "It's Up to You!" has been completed in the Nizhny Novgorod district. This was reported by the district administration.

      The head of the Nizhny Novgorod district, Aleksey Rybakov, and the curator of the "Social Doska" project in the district, Svetlana Dosaeva, checked the quality of the work done.

      "Demolition of the old pavement was carried out in front of School No. 35, curbstones replaced, and new asphalt laid. Similar work was performed on the grounds of Kindergarten No. 477, and the pathways were repaired. Under the 'It's Up to You!' project, in the Nizhny Novgorod district this year, we mainly improve social facilities: installing and tidying up sports grounds, paving the territories of educational institutions. These initiatives were voted on by the residents of Nizhny Novgorod themselves. This year, we are implementing a total of 7 projects, 6 of which are already fully ready. The repair of the sports hall at Gymnasium No. 13 will be completed soon," said district head Aleksey Rybakov.

      Alexander Popelnytsky, deputy director of School No. 35, explained that before the repairs, the territory had an old asphalt with potholes and uneven surfaces.

      "There were large puddles after rain, making it impossible to walk. And this is our main area where assemblies and various events are held. Now, thanks to the 'It's Up to You!' project, our site has transformed and is ready for the new school year," he shared.

      The students of the school said they are already preparing for the Knowledge Day.

      "I want to go to school: I missed my classmates and teachers a lot. It’s especially nice that the first September assembly will take place on the new site this year," said Polina Tretyakova, a student of the 11th grade.

      Galina Kashina, head of Kindergarten No. 477, reported that she personally supervised the work on asphalt paving at the facility.

      "We kept constant contact with the contractor and monitored the progress daily. The result is a smooth playground and pathways. Very convenient and safe!" she said.

      "It has become easier to run, ride a scooter. Now you can draw with chalk and play tag. Also, the curbs turned out to be beautiful – black with yellow," said Felix Kolomazov, a kindergarten pupil.

      Svetlana Dosaeva, curator of the "Social Doska" project in the Nizhny Novgorod district, noted that thanks to the "It's Up to You!" project, residents influence the improvement of not only the surrounding territories and public recreation areas but also important social facilities like schools and kindergartens.

      "It is important to create a favorable environment for the comprehensive development of children and youth, making their study and recreation comfortable and safe," she emphasized.

      Earlier, the city mayor Yuri Shalabajev remarked that the governor's initiative budgeting project "It's Up to You!" is very popular among the residents of Nizhny Novgorod.

      "This is an excellent opportunity to do something for your yard or street, beloved park, school, or sports ground," said the mayor, encouraging residents to actively participate in submitting their applications.
