Former Vice-Governor and Honored Citizen of Nizhny Novgorod Region Alexander Batyrev passed away at the age of 78.

      In 1969, after completing his service in the Soviet Army, Alexander Vasilievich joined the Gorky Television Factory named after V.I. Lenin, where he progressed from a fitter-assembler to the position of president and general director. He made significant personal contributions to the development, production preparation, and serial manufacturing of modern radio-electronic equipment, including locators capable of detecting targets manufactured using "Stela" technology. In 1988, becoming secretary and then second secretary of the Gorky City Committee of the Party, A.V. Batyrev oversaw the city’s industry, construction, and volunteer aid to rural areas. The Gorky City Council of Directors was established — a predecessor of the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Industry and Entrepreneurs. Since 1997, A.V. Batyrev has been the First Deputy Governor and Vice-Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. He supervised all industrial sectors, construction, transport enterprises, communications, and road construction. From 2002 to 2005, he served as the Chief Advisor to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District. Alexander Vasilievich Batyrev was the General Director of the Y.M. Sverdlov Plant. He was awarded the honorary title "Honorary Citizen of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" on December 19, 2006 (Resolution No. 349-IV of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region).
