
Nizhny Novgorod will bid farewell to artist Viktor Kondrashkin on August 6th.
On August 4, 2025, at the age of 75, Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Nikolaevich Kondrashkin passed away. His death was announced by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Union of Theatre Workers, of which he was a long-standing member. Viktor Kondrashkin graduated from the Gorky Theatre School (now the NSTU named after Yevstigneyev) and dedicated over 30 years to serving at the Nizhny Novgorod Young Audience Theatre. Throughout his stage career, he embodied over 80 roles. His performances were distinguished by expressive psychological depth, sincere tenderness, and subtle drama. Kondrashkin's talent was recognized with numerous professional awards, especially evident in his performance in "The Emperor's New Clothes" by Schwartz, where his role as the King earned him five theatrical awards. "The Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation expresses sincere condolences to Viktor Nikolaevich's colleagues, family, and friends," the organization's Telegram channel stated. The farewell to the artist will take place on August 6 at 12:00 at the church on Novosormovsky Cemetery. It is worth noting that in May 2025, the well-known actor and director Artur Kochkanyan died in Nizhny Novgorod.
