On August 1, the day of remembrance of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, visited the V Interregional Orthodox Youth Forum "My Joy" (0+), held in the village of Diveevo. Also attending the meeting were Father Andrey Bandin, head of the youth department of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, and his deputy Alexander Vikharev.

During the interaction with forum participants, the regional leader touched on the role of faith in a person's life and answered questions from the young people.

According to Gleb Nikitin, spiritual values underpin concepts such as love for the Motherland, readiness for self-sacrifice, and the desire to help others. He emphasized that events like the "My Joy" forum create a space for reflection, open dialogue, and joint search for answers to important questions, including how to bring people closer to God and make this path more accessible.

The governor noted that the youth gathered in Diveevo bear a special mission — to become leaders who unite others based on spiritual and moral principles. He stated that regional authorities will continue to support such initiatives that promote intergenerational dialogue rooted in faith and the spiritual heritage of Saint Seraphim of Sarov.

During the meeting, the topic of cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolis and the regional government was also discussed. The governor specifically mentioned that this year, for the first time, the forum hosted a grant competition #RosmolodezhGrants. The winners received funding ranging from 80 thousand to 1.5 million rubles for implementing their initiatives.

At the end of the event, the organizers presented Gleb Nikitin with a letter of appreciation, an icon of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, and a set from the forum participant kit.

It is worth recalling that in 2025, the "My Joy" forum brought together over 350 participants from 45 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church in Diveevo, representing 40 regions of the country. Among them were about 20 youth department leaders, including representatives from the dioceses of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. The forum's themes focused on the role of youth in society and the cultural space of the Russian world: patriotism, self-realization, volunteering, creativity, moral standards, and spiritual values. The forum is scheduled to conclude on August 1.

Earlier, it was reported that nearly 11,000 pilgrims visited the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevo Monastery during the celebration days.
