Nizhny Novgorod Region is attractive for relocating specialists from other regions and abroad, stated Governor Gleb Nikitin during his report to the deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly at the session on July 31, 2025.
The labor market of the Nizhny Novgorod region is saturated with job offers. As of July 1, this year, nearly 130,000 vacancies were announced, and the unemployment rate remains at 0.01%.
"Availability of jobs makes the Nizhny Novgorod region attractive for specialists from other regions and abroad. Under the voluntary resettlement program for compatriots, 368 people moved to the region in 2024. The OKA кадровое агентство ("one-stop service" agency for foreigners wishing to relocate to Russia) is operating. Currently, 12 foreign families reside in the region, including IT specialists, builders, and farmers. In the first half of 2025, 673 applications for relocation and support of foreign citizens to the Nizhny Novgorod region were received," emphasized Gleb Nikitin.
Through the OKA кадровое агентство, about 200 foreign specialists from Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan have been employed at six enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Regarding increasing labor resource mobility, highly qualified specialists from other regions are arriving. It is planned that in 2025, 345 people from other Russian federal subjects will come under this program.
