      Incidents A tragic incident occurred in Lukoyanov, Nizhny Novgorod Region — a 24-year-old man drowned while swimming in a local pond.

      The incident took place on July 29, 2025. After receiving information about the incident, a staff member from the Shatoksky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region arrived at the scene.

      The investigator examined the victim's body. Preliminary data indicate no signs of violent death — no bodily injuries suggestive of a criminal nature were found on the body.

      A forensic medical examination has been appointed to establish the exact cause of death.

      Currently, representatives of the Investigative Committee are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the incident. After the investigation is completed, an appropriate procedural decision will be made.

      It was previously reported that the possible cause of death of a Moscow athlete during a swim in Nizhny Novgorod is known.
