In August, residents of Nizhny Novgorod can expect major changes in public transportation. New routes will appear in the city and region, some buses will change their routes, and some services will become more expensive or temporarily operate on alternative routes. The editorial staff of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has gathered up-to-date information about the upcoming changes.
Starting August 1, a new bus route № 171 will begin operation in Nizhny Novgorod. It will connect the Verkhnie Pechery neighborhood with the "Oksky Bereg" residential complex. The initial plan was to launch it in June, but a carrier could not be found. The competition was declared unsuccessful twice, and only on the third attempt was an agreement signed with LLC "KONKA." Six medium-class buses will operate on the route.
Additionally, from August 1, tram № 27 in Nizhny Novgorod will resume operation. It was temporarily canceled in May due to reconstruction of the tram network at the Kulibina street intersection. The route is now returning to service.
In Dzerzhinsk, bus № 28 will resume service. It connects the Sverdlov Plant with the AO "Kanat" enterprise. After a prolonged break, a carrier was found, and from August 1, LLC "Stolica-Auto" will begin servicing the route.
Some changes will also affect suburban train services. From August 4, the schedule for electric train № 6309 on the Nizhny Novgorod – Vyazniki route will be adjusted. The stop at Galitskaya station will be extended to four minutes. Additionally, boarding in the first two cars of the train will not be available.
On bus route № 36 "Dolgopolova Street — Blyznekonstantinovo settlement," the fleet will be increased starting August 1. Currently, five buses operate on the line, and starting this month, their number will grow to seven. This will reduce intervals and increase passenger comfort. The Center for Transport Systems Development explained that this decision is related to the growing popularity of the route.
At the same time, starting August 1, the fare on buses heading to Bora will increase. The changes will affect routes № 222т, 229, 236, 237, 237a, and 245. Within the Bor urban district, ticket prices will rise from 25 to 40 rubles. Intercity routes will cost between 95 and 120 rubles, depending on the distance.
According to the Center for Transport System Development, bus № 42 will continue operating on a temporary schedule until August 3. This is due to ongoing emergency repair work at the intersection of Sergievskaya and Dobrolyubova streets. Initially, the restrictions were to be lifted on July 30, but the timeline was extended. For now, buses will run through Ilyinskaya and Dobrolyubova streets in both directions.
Earlier, we reported on new routes launched in Nizhny Novgorod in July.
