Fraudsters swindled a resident of Dzerzhinsk out of over 400,000 rubles.

      Incidents A resident of Dzerzhinsk became a victim of telephone fraud, losing 417,000 rubles. The incident occurred on July 14, 2025, when a 24-year-old Nizhny Novgorod resident received a call from an unknown number. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The caller introduced himself as an employee of "Roskomnadzor" and informed about suspicious activity on the caller's bank account. Under the pretext of protecting savings, the fraudster suggested transferring money to a so-called "safe account."

      Fearing for his savings, the man followed the instructions and transferred all funds to the specified account. He later contacted the police department.

      A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud." The penalty for this article envisages up to six years of imprisonment.
