Society Leading executive of the United Center for Military-Patriotic Education "Avangard" of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Andrey Nesterenko, announced his decision to participate in the special military operation. He wrote about this on his VK page.
According to Nesterenko, he has signed a contract and is already preparing to be sent to the combat zone as a volunteer.
The head of the center emphasized that his decision is based not on formal obligations but on internal convictions. "This is not a contract with the Ministry of Defense — it's a contract with my conscience," he wrote.
Nesterenko also shared that military service is part of his family history. His grandfather, Petr Evmenovich, was a scout, participated in the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Medal for Courage, and went to the front from Volnovakha in the Donetsk region.
The leader of "Avangard" added that, holding a leadership position in patriotic education and working with youth, he does not want to stay on the sidelines of real events. According to him, he cannot be a "theoretical director contemplating what he has not seen."
"I need to be where the fate of the country is decided," Nesterenko concluded.
It was previously reported that a U.S. citizen went to the SVO from Nizhny Novgorod.
