      Economics In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the harvest campaign has begun. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, farmers have already harvested from the first 22,000 hectares of wheat crops. As reported by Nikolay Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, active grain harvesting is currently underway. Harvesting has started in fields with wheat, rye, and peas. The wheat yield this season is 35.5 centners per hectare, exceeding last year's result by 7.7%.

      In addition, harvesting of other crops, including rapeseed, potatoes, and cabbage, has begun. In six municipalities, winter rapeseed is being harvested, with yields already reaching 27.4 centners per hectare.

      The harvest campaign has covered 20 districts of the region, including Arzamas, Vady, Vorotynsk, Knyagininsky, Lyskovo, Pervomaysk, Ardatov, Bolshoboldinsky, Buturlinsky, Gaginsky, Diveevsky, Krasnooktyabrsky, Lukoyanovsky, Pervomaysky, Pilninsky, Pochinok, Sergach, Sechenovsky, Spassky, and Shatkovsky districts.

      Harvesting of fodder continues as well. The plan for silage harvesting is nearly complete; haymaking has reached 70%, and silage collection is at 15%. In terms of feed units, 18.5 centners of fodder have already been accumulated per head of cattle, which is 70% of the planned volume.

      It was previously reported that four farm enterprises from the Nizhny Novgorod region became winners of a grant competition for the development of family farms.
