      Nizhny Novgorod Region continues to maintain its position among the leaders in retail medication sales, consistently ranking in the top 10 regions of the country. This was reported in the telegram channel of the medical publication "Stationary Press" by Chief Editor Alexey Nikonov.

      Since the beginning of 2025, 52 million packages of medicines have been sold in the region's pharmacies, amounting to over 19 billion rubles. The average cost of one package was 381 rubles, which is 15% higher than the same period last year.

      The most popular medications among buyers remain omeprazole, Nafazilin, Citramon, Paracetamol, Nurofen, Ceftriaxone, and Corvalol.

      The average purchase check for medicines in June 2025 reached 615 rubles. In comparison, in June 2024, it was 536 rubles.

      It was previously reported that doctors may be required to issue prescriptions in printed form due to unreadable handwriting.
