      Society: Vladimir Zhirinovsky monument and naming a Nizhny Novgorod park after him proposed by Anton Ananin, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. He announced this on his Telegram channel.

      The legislator sent a letter to Governor Gleb Nikitin requesting support for establishing a monument in honor of the LDPR founder. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree celebrating the 80th anniversary of Zhirinovsky's birth, which will be observed in 2026. He also referenced the head of state’s words about the politician’s significant contribution to the development of parliamentarism in the country.

      As part of the initiative, it is proposed to immortalize Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s memory by naming an unnamed park along Gagarin Avenue — from house No. 104 to house No. 118. The monument is planned to be installed on an existing paved area between houses No. 108 and No. 110. As clarified by the deputy, the project implementation will not require cutting down greenery.

      Funding for both the monument itself and the landscaping of the surrounding area should, according to the author, be carried out solely through private funds.

      According to Ananin, the project is timed to coincide with the politician’s anniversary. The deputy expressed hope that regional authorities will help expedite the process of obtaining all necessary permits so that the monument can be unveiled in April 2026 — on Zhirinovsky’s birthday. He also noted that several Russian cities already have streets named after the LDPR founder — in particular, Moscow, Krasnodar, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Additionally, there is a monument to him in the capital.

      It should be noted that in April 2022, following the politician’s death, the regional branch of the party already proposed naming a street, park, or square after Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
