      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, since the beginning of 2025, 439 apartments have been purchased for orphans. This was announced by the head of the regional Ministry of Construction program implementation department, Ilya Bondarev, at the meeting of the urban planning committee of the Legislative Assembly.

      The procurement is carried out within the framework of the state support program for citizens to secure housing. This year, it is planned to acquire 532 apartments, including 169 in Nizhny Novgorod. A budget of 2.3 billion rubles has been allocated for these purposes, which is 24% more than last year. Funds come from the federal and regional budgets, and housing is purchased both on the primary and secondary markets.

      "To date, 83% of the plan has been achieved, and work is ongoing. In the second half of the year, authorities intend to purchase additional apartments using savings," he said.

      Vasily Sukhanov, chairman of the urban development, property, and land relations committee, emphasized the importance not only of quantitative indicators but also of the quality of the acquired properties.

      "It is important not only to increase the volume but also to guarantee that the housing will be of high quality and safe. We are constantly working on improving the regulatory framework and monitoring every stage. Equally important, I believe, is conducting monitoring of the further fate of the provided housing. Orphans must be protected in their property rights from the encroachments of troublemakers," he noted.

      It was previously reported that 44 apartments would be transferred to orphans in Nizhny Novgorod.
