      In the Nizhny Novgorod metro, tokens for train access are issued less and less when paying cash. They are now being replaced with QR code tickets, which must be scanned at the terminal. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Metro NN".

      Metro employees explained that this is due to the company transitioning to a new payment system. It is being implemented gradually, so the number of stations where tokens can be purchased is decreasing. However, they have not been completely withdrawn from circulation yet.

      According to a source, the only token automated machine remaining is at Kanavinskaya station. Most fare payments are made using transport or bank cards, as well as contactless payments via biometrics.
