A fatal road traffic accident occurred on the M-12 "Vostok" federal highway section in the Nizhny Novgorod region on the evening of July 22. This was reported by the regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.
At around 23:40 on the 597th kilometer of the highway, in the Pilninsky district, 23-year-old driver of a Changan Uni-Ve car exceeded the speed limit and did not maintain a safe following distance from a Mercedes truck ahead.
As a result of the collision, the young Changan driver died at the scene. The passenger of the same vehicle sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
An investigation is underway to determine all circumstances of the incident.
Earlier, a video was released showing a fatal accident where a drunk car-sharing driver hit a pedestrian and crashed into a house on Lenin Avenue.
