      The landscaping of the square near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral has been postponed to 2026. This was announced on July 23 at the city duma meeting, reports NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent.

      During the report on the latest budget adjustments, Yuri Mochalkin, director of the city administration's finance department, stated that the revenue part of the budget is proposed to be increased by 182.4 million rubles. This will occur through an increase in own revenues by 436.8 million rubles and a reduction in interbudgetary transfers by 254.4 million rubles.

      Specifically, 281.7 million rubles will be allocated for the landscaping work of the square near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (due to the withdrawal of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region's guarantee letter), as well as 44.2 million rubles for road construction and reconstruction.

      Expenses of the Department of Education are increasing by 17.5 million rubles for major repairs of the roof and finishing works at Kindergarten No. 225; the Department of Construction is increasing its budget by 400 thousand rubles for relocating residents from emergency housing; 53 million rubles are allocated for city lighting.

      Expenses are also increasing by 436 million rubles from own revenues, including 363.4 million rubles for reimbursement of costs for LLC "Nizhny Novgorod Metro"; an additional 400 thousand rubles will be allocated for library maintenance; and another 73 million rubles for relocating residents from emergency housing.

      It is also proposed to make changes to the expenditure part of the budget through reallocation of appropriations and actual savings amounting to 317.5 million rubles.

      Thus, the total income of the city treasury will amount to 73.48 billion rubles, the total expenses will be 77.18 billion rubles. The deficit will be 3.69 billion rubles.

      Chairman of the standing committee of the duma on budget, financial, and tax policy, Mark Feldman, noted that the reduction in transfer receipts is related to postponing the work near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and road repairs to next year.

      Earlier, it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod regional government allocated 281 million rubles for landscaping the territory near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. In late April, a competition for the work was announced. It was postponed several times, but ultimately the electronic auction was canceled.
