The Votary police have initiated a criminal case regarding the fatal traffic accident.

      On July 15, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the duty officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Vorotynsky" received a report about a road traffic incident at 565 km in the Vorotynsky urban district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. During the investigation team’s arrival, it was established that the driver born in 1969, driving a Geely Atlas, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with an Audi car driven by a person born in 1993. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Geely Atlas and his passenger born in 1980 died at the scene. The second passenger of the Geely Atlas, also born in 1980, died at a medical facility. The driver of the Audi and his 5-year-old passenger sustained injuries of various severity and were hospitalized. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of traffic rules and vehicle operation). The police warn drivers about the necessity of observing traffic regulations. To prevent accidents, traffic police remind that, according to traffic rules, drivers must adhere to speed limits, considering traffic intensity, vehicle and cargo conditions, as well as road and weather conditions. Drivers should choose a speed at which they can confidently control the vehicle.
