      Nizhny Novgorod doctors helped a woman without ovaries conceive

      Doctors from the Nizhny Novgorod region helped a woman with almost no ovaries conceive and give birth, writes Alexey Nikonov, chief editor of "Stacionar-Press," in his Telegram channel.

      After the woman from Nizhny Novgorod had a benign tumor — a cystadenoma — removed, she had almost no ovarian tissue left. As noted by gynecologist and reproductive specialist Evgeniya Soboleva, the ovaries were barely visible on ultrasound.

      Nevertheless, the woman was determined to have a child, and medical professionals monitored her condition for a year, waiting for the right moment. Ultimately, the doctors managed to obtain two embryos, one of which they transferred into her uterine cavity during a complex surgery.

      The procedure was successful — the embryo took hold and began to develop. Despite all the risks, the pregnancy proceeded smoothly, and eventually the woman from Nizhny Novgorod gave birth to a completely healthy boy.
