On July 23, restrictions on the acceptance and departure of aircraft were reintroduced at Nizhny Novgorod Airport. They were in effect from 1:29 AM to 8:19 AM, said Artem Korenyako, a representative of Rosaviatsiya.
The restrictions were related to ensuring flight safety. As reported by Governor Gleb Nikitin, six UAVs were shot down over the Nizhny Novgorod region, directed towards industrial facilities. There are no casualties or injuries.
Currently, V.P. Chkalov Airport is restoring operations after the restrictions. Staff are adjusting flight schedules based on the current situation. Airport shifts have been intensified and are ready for the prompt reception and dispatch of passengers. The airport’s press service noted that flights are delayed both on arrival and departure. – Currently, registration is underway for flights to Saint Petersburg, Moscow, and Sharm El Sheikh. Flights to Moscow and Yekaterinburg are preparing for departure. Passengers are being provided with water depending on the length of delays, – officials from the airport said.
Passengers are asked to monitor the schedule while in the terminal and check the status of their flight on the online display or with the airline.
