The city head, Yuri Shalabaev, visited the Nizhny Novgorod Military Hospital, where he met with SVO servicemen undergoing treatment and preparing for prosthetics. Currently, eight people are in the specialized department.
"Each of them has their own story, their own heroism, but their unbreakable spirit and belief in our future victory are united," noted Yuri Shalabaev. "They say the mood before prosthetics is combat-ready, and excellent specialists help improve their condition. I learned from the hospital leadership what to bring to the guys — each department has assembled needs-based kits."
According to the hospital chief, Oleg Tutaev, the facility is designed for 300 people. Here, military personnel can receive high-quality medical assistance across various specialties.
"Besides, we prepare patients for prosthetics, address social issues related to document processing for various benefits, and conduct outpatient treatment in the hospital's clinic," Oleg Tutaev explained.
During his visit, Yuri Shalabaev met with the military personnel and discussed their future plans. In particular, he offered them jobs in organizations under the administration’s jurisdiction.
"The guys are full of optimism about prosthetics and their future life. I invited them to join us at the Nizhny Novgorod administration and our subordinate institutions. We are always glad to welcome those who have participated in a special military operation," the mayor reminded.
According to him, many former SVO participants already work at the SVO Museum, the Patriot football club, and other important organizations.
"Earlier, I was a train driver on the railway, now I’m deciding what to do in civilian life. It’s very nice to receive attention and a job offer," admitted Anatoly, one of the patients and an SVO participant.
During his visit, Yuri Shalabaev also inspected the hospital’s food block and promised to help with repairs.
"Of course, the hospital provides high-quality nutrition and meets all standards, but we discussed how to improve the existing facilities. The city administration will assist with the necessary repairs," said Yuri Shalabaev. "In addition, we regularly send humanitarian aid to the zone of the special military operation and implement a wide range of support measures for our fighters."
The Association of Restaurateurs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is also ready to assist with the repair. Its representatives actively participate in charitable projects.
"We are planning to help the hospital with equipment, set up a modern ventilation system, and optimize the kitchen space. If interested, our chefs can offer consultations and staff training to further improve the quality of the meals," proposed Aleksei Belyaev, director of the Association of Restaurateurs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
