SocietyChairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Evgeny Lyulin announced that he will disable commenting features on his Telegram channel. The decision is related to the newly enacted restrictions on the use of foreign software by government officials.
According to Lyulin, he will now use the Russian social network "VKontakte" for feedback with citizens. In the future, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly plans to switch to the domestic messenger MAX, which is still under development but already available to users.
"There's a law, so I'm informing you that I am forced to disable comments on Telegram. My channel on 'Telegram' will continue to be updated, but for feedback with readers, I will now use the domestic VK," the deputy noted.
As of June 1, 2025, a ban on the use of foreign software for communication between government agencies and citizens came into effect in Russia. This measure aims to combat fraud and applies to all levels of authority and subordinate organizations.
It was previously reported that the national messenger MAX has introduced a group video call function with no time or participant restrictions.
