      The Chairwoman of the Regional Legislative Assembly, Evgeny Lyulin, visited the first museum of Gorodets painting in Russia, which opened to visitors a month ago. The exhibition complex is housed in a building of the former 19th-century trading rows.

      Speaker of the regional parliament Evgeny Lyulin inspected the museum's exhibit, which is primarily composed of unique items from the collection of the Gorodets painting factory, as well as objects gathered from private collections, antique shops, and the families of hereditary craftsmen. The collection, numbering around 400 exhibits, covers the history of the craft since 1936. Among them are both antique works and pieces by famous masters of the past, as well as modern creations. Young families are also drawn here—you can sign up for a painting masterclass, and on the interactive panel, you can model a toy, a plate, or even a chest yourself.

      The Chairwoman of the Legislative Assembly highly valued the museum's role as a center for preserving and promoting the unique Nizhny Novgorod folk art craft, known for its bright colors, graphic clarity, and joyful themes.

      The museum features not only the history of the craft but also its present. Visitors can purchase new products of the factory, created in accordance with tradition and in collaboration with modern designers. According to the museum's management, the upcoming plans include opening a restaurant on the premises.

      "Today, I once again realized: the traditions of Gorodets painting are not only carefully preserved but also developing. In this amazing place, you can feel the living connection of times; unique exhibits coexist with modern works. Thanks to the support of investors who have taken responsibility for reviving the historic building and creating such an important cultural center, this place has become a vivid example of how, through joint efforts, the heritage of a broad and rich Russia is preserved," said Evgeny Lyulin.
