URGENT ALERT
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Service," from July 22 to 29, 2025, there will be areas in the Nizhny Novgorod Region where forest and peat bog fire hazard levels remain high (4th class). The likelihood of emergencies related to forest (natural) fires increases. An increase in the number of fire outbreaks and affected areas, with fires spreading to settlements and economic facilities, is possible.
Recommendations for residents:
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region strongly urges everyone to be extremely careful during the fire hazardous period and to comply with all fire safety rules.
When receiving information about high or extreme fire danger levels, refrain from visiting forests.
Do not burn trash in your garden and summer house plots. Avoid burning waste near forests and wooded areas. Do not light campfires in forests. Do not smoke, discard lit matches, cigarette butts, or pour hot ashes from smoking pipes. Do not leave greasy or fuel-soaked rags, gasoline, kerosene, or other flammable substances in the forest. Do not leave bottles, glass shards, or other trash exposed to sunlight in forest clearings.
Be attentive and cautious if you discover a natural fire, and immediately call the fire department.
