      Athletes aged 18 to 35 competed for victory in the game. The mini-football tournament among working youth took place at the "Trud" stadium in the Sormovsky district. According to the district administration, athletes aged 18 to 35 competed for victory. The competition was held according to a round-robin format, with the match schedule determined by a draw. Ultimately, the victory was won by the team of the "Krasnoe Sormovo" factory, second place went to the athletes of AO "Hleb," and the third place was taken by the team of the Volga shipbuilding plant. The winners and medalists were awarded cups and certificates. "Football develops endurance, determination, team spirit, and a will to win in players. The main goal of the competition is to promote a healthy lifestyle, bring participants together, and introduce workers from different enterprises to one another," said district administration staff. Currently, nearly 60% of Nizhny Novgorod residents are engaged in sports. Over the past years, this figure has increased by 17%, stated the city head Yuri Shalabayev while presenting the city hall's activity report for 2024 to the deputies of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma. "Creating conditions for the development of mass and professional sports is yet another important task we are actively working on. The material and technical base of sports schools is being strengthened, over a thousand sporting events are held annually across the city, and new sports grounds are opening," said the mayor. Previously, it was reported that the Center for School Sports Leagues and Sports Development had begun its work in Nizhny Novgorod. Mayor Yuri Shalabayev announced this on his social media accounts.
