In Nizhny Novgorod, police officers detained a 20-year-old local resident suspected of drug trafficking, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
During operational-search activities, four packages containing illegal substances were seized from the young man. Additionally, investigators identified six hiding places within the regional center, where drugs were also found.
During a search of the suspect’s house, a briquette of brown-colored substance was discovered. An examination confirmed that all seized materials contained the psychoactive drug hashish. The total weight exceeded 100 grams.
The young man admitted to selling drugs for profit.
Investigators initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The individual is currently under house arrest. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
It was previously reported that the drug turnover in the Nizhny Novgorod region increased by 34.3%.
