      In Nizhny Novgorod Region, the director of the "Sergach Sugar Plant" was detained for causing damage to soils worth over 264 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened regarding violations of environmental legislation, according to the regional FSB press service.

      It was established that the company's руководитель exported waste requiring disposal to a third-party land plot intended for agricultural use. As a result of these actions, an area of 11 hectares was affected.

      The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under the article for violation of environmental protection rules during work activities. Specialists are conducting necessary operational-search activities to establish all circumstances of the incident.
